Hallmark Adds New Mimaki Flatbed UV Inkjet Press

As part of our constant effort to improve and add new capabilities for our customers, Hallmark Nameplate has added the Mimaki UJF-706 Flatbed UV Inkjet Press to its arsenal.  While screen printing is definitely not going anywhere due to its high quality and durability, we are investing in our digital printing capabilities due to some distinct advantages. Most notably, pre-press production is reduced from developing a screen for each color to a data check only and it enables variable data jobs (such as names, barcodes, serial numbers, images, etc.).  There are also environmental benefits as there is no need for cleaning plates after use.

The Mimaki UJF-706 will allow our customers to take advantage of quick prototyping, great process printing, and better digital color matching abilities across wide variety of substrates up to 150 mm (5.9″) thick.  With a resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and variable dot technology, this Mimaki Inkjet Press can reproduce even the finest image details and tiny characters in exceptional quality.  Staggered print heads accommodate full color and white in two lines thus doubling print speed and enabling over- and under-printing in one run.  As shown in the images below, white under-printing is especially useful for transparent substrates or colored substrates.

Only full color White under print
Only full color Pallid, sallow image due to colored/transparent substrate. White under print Original vivid image colors are displayed due to white ink layer underneath the image.

The combination of the automatic roll unit and ability to handle both hard and flexible UV inks enables printing on roll-to-roll substrates and thin flexible packaging films.

We’re excited about our new Mimaki UJF-706 Flatbed UV Inkjet Press and look forward to putting it to work for your company’s needs.  Please contact us today to request a quote for your project.
