Aluminum Nameplates

If your application requires nameplates and labels that will hold up under virtually any conditions, you need to consider aluminum nameplates. Aluminum nameplates will look as good ten years ago as they do when they are first produced, and they are perfect for long term outdoor use where abrasion, salt spray, chemicals and sun exposure are possible. Aluminum nameplates achieve their long lasting good looks because the image isn’t just printed on the aluminum — it is embedded into the aluminum and appears below a hardened clear layer that is well protected by the elements.

Aluminum nameplates are perfect for: outdoor applications, high temperatures, long term outdoor exposure, abrasion, salt spray, and most chemicals. Aluminum nameplates are perfect for harsh environment or when field marking is required.

Aluminum nameplates may not be the best choice for: Temporary applications, basic product packaging, applications where long life is not a consideration or indoor uses where the nameplate is unlikely to see much abuse.

How thick should your aluminum nameplate be? Hallmark Nameplate offers aluminum nameplates in a variety of thicknesses ranging from 0.003″ to 0.32″. Thin nameplates (0.003″ to 0.010″) are the most economical, thin and fairly rigid. 0.011″ to 0.020″ are rigid and excellent for projects that require an adhesive backing. Thicker aluminum nameplates (up to 0.032″) are very rigid and either need to be applied with rivets or specially applied thick adhesive. Hallmark Nameplate’s design engineers can help you select the right thickness for your application.

What type of finishes are available? Hallmark Nameplate offers aluminum nameplates in a variety of finishes including gloss, matte, brush (brushed aluminum) or satin. Satin is attractive in that you can see the gentle grain of the aluminum and it is minimally reflective. Matte finished aluminum nameplates are duller, non-reflective and provide a flatter background tone. You are welcome to request a sample of any of the different finishes we have available.

Hallmark Nameplate is ISO 9001:2008 certified for all nameplate production and meets military specifications Mil-P-15024 and Mil-P-19834.  However more than just certifications, we’ve built a culture of quality that makes sure we do the job right for your business, the first time.
